How I help
Four practice areas, built on four decades of decisions made from inside the organisation — not from a slide deck. Each engagement is confidential by default.

SAP & ERP Strategy
I advise on ERP strategy, governance and the modernisation of SAP environments — with particular focus on the transition to SAP S/4HANA, including RISE with SAP.
My perspective comes from leading the full ERP lifecycle inside a group of over 24,000 employees and annual revenues above €900 million: the original SAP ECC and SAP CRM rollout in 2007, the addition of SAP SuccessFactors (2017) and SAP Ariba (2018), the HANA database upgrade in 2018, and a brownfield upgrade to S/4HANA whose first phase went live in May 2026.
Where I add value:
- Deciding whether, when and how to move to S/4HANA — greenfield, brownfield or selective
- Structuring and governing large ERP migration programmes
- Translating a technical mandate into a board-level business case
I am an independent advisor — not a licence reseller and not an implementation firm. That independence is the point.
CRM & Integration
I advise on the selection, replacement and integration of CRM platforms, with attention to the integration architecture that decides whether a CRM programme succeeds or stalls.
Having led both the first SAP CRM implementation in 2007 and its later replacement with Salesforce — including the MuleSoft integration layer — I bring a view of the CRM platform’s full lifecycle, from first rollout to succession.
Where I add value:
- CRM platform selection and replacement decisions
- Integration architecture between CRM, ERP and surrounding systems
- Avoiding the integration debt that quietly erodes CRM value
Cybersecurity & Governance
I provide CISO-level advisory, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) guidance, and support for organisations pursuing security certification.
As CISO from 2022 to 2024, I led B2B – Serviços Partilhados to ISO/IEC 27001 certification (2013 version in 2022, renewed to the 2022 version in 2025) and to ISO/IEC 20000 (2021, renewed 2024). Earlier, I built the organisation’s first VPN in 2000, and during the COVID-19 pandemic I led the continuity effort that kept 2,000 employees working securely from home.
To support these certification programmes, I introduced Jira and Confluence as the backbone for evidence management, control tracking and documentation — giving the certification effort the process discipline and auditability that industry best practice expects.
Where I add value:
- CISO advisory, on a retained or project basis
- GRC frameworks and the path to ISO/IEC 27001 certification
- Business continuity and operational resilience
IT Strategy & Innovation
I advise on strategic IT planning and the disciplined adoption of emerging technology — Artificial Intelligence in particular — keeping innovation tied to business outcomes rather than to the technology cycle.
At one of Portugal’s largest business groups I led Activate AI, a programme combining capability building with practical proof. It delivered three AI proofs of concept in 2024: a contact-centre pilot on IBM Watson, since in production; a supplier-invoice pilot on Microsoft Copilot; and an intelligent-menu pilot on Google technology. The programme also raised the IT organisation’s own capability — Python and data-analysis skills from 2022, AI master classes for middle management, and a secure-development training programme for the engineering teams.
Where I add value:
- IT strategy that survives more than one budget cycle
- Deciding where AI earns its place — and where it does not
- Building the internal capability to sustain the strategy
